I staggered into this Museum of Modern Art for Orphans at MoMA: Animation and Activism, wearier than I might have liked. Too many late nights finishing a manuscript and too many bad sleeps worried if the DMCA would lend cameras to my students in Documentary Film Workshop (they did but only after I went fairly far up the food chain). I brought along my camera and it reveals a lot about my state of being.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/MoMAabstract.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-2665\" src=\"http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/MoMAabstract-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"The MoMA Crowd\" width=\"627\" height=\"418\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/MoMAabstract-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/MoMAabstract-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 627px) 100vw, 627px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>sometimes it feels as if I have four friends left in New York\u2013\u2013a casualty of teaching out of town all these years\u00a0 So it was nice to see that at least thirteen of them showed up.\u00a0 They came from all sorts of different places: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Dan-Streible.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2664\" src=\"http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Dan-Streible-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Dan Streible busy networking\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Dan-Streible-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Dan-Streible-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>it was an honest to god reunion. National Treasure Dan Streible was organizing the event, and I guess you could say that friends of Dan are almost by definition mutual friends.\u00a0 Katie Trainer performed the role of Master of Ceremonies (though I should note that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/KatieTrainoratMoMA.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2672\" src=\"http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/KatieTrainoratMoMA-243x300.png\" alt=\"KatieTrainoratMoMA\" width=\"243\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/KatieTrainoratMoMA-243x300.png 243w, http:\/\/www.charlesmusser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/KatieTrainoratMoMA.png 424w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 243px) 100vw, 243px\" \/><\/a>term Master may soon be outlawed by all those who are politically correct).
